AGGRESSIVE TEAM ITALIA RETURNS TO ATTACK MODE IN TCR EUROPE AT SPA
The Lombard team is aiming for the top of the standings in Belgium in the third act of the continental series. Levente Losonczy and Mikael Karlsson on track with two Hyundai Elantra N TCRs: qualifying and races live streaming on the TCR TV platform
Aggressive Team Italia is preparing for a thrilling challenge, in the third act of the TCR Europe season. The formation led by Mauro Guastamacchia will in fact be the protagonist for the first time in its history on the legendary circuit of Spa Francorchamps, chasing with the drivers Levente Losonczy and Mikael Karlsson for a prestigious result in the continental series which, as already happened in Portugal, will also welcome the protagonists of the TCR World Tour.
The Italian team is chasing the points again after a decidedly uphill debut over the weekend that took place a month ago on the Portimao track. Siziano’s squad has prepared with the usual attention to detail in view of the trip to the Ardennes, where the two Hyundai Elantra N TCRs will try to aim for the top part of the standings on a weekend in which even the weather could offer surprises.
The data collected in the first outing of the season and in the opening stages of the TCR Italy will certainly come in handy for Aggressive Team Italia, determined to want to do well with its standard bearers on one of the most famous tracks in the world. For Levente Losonczy it will be the seasonal debut in TCR Europe: the talented Magyar driver, recently appointed a member of the Motorsport Academy by the Hungarian federation, will be back in action in the continental series after last year’s appearance in Monza. After the positive results achieved in the first two rounds of the TCR Italy, enhanced by the absolute podium at Imola, the 20-year-old from Gyor will aim to repeat himself even in the presence of the main interpreters of the specialty at European level.
Losonczy will find himself at his side for the first time in the garage Mikael Karlsson, called up for confirmation after a growing debut in the first round of the season. The expert Swedish driver will be called upon to continue his apprenticeship phase, with the aim of quickly gaining confidence with the seven kilometers of the Belgian circuit and gradually climbing up the standings over the course of the weekend.
Mauro Guastamacchia (Team Principal Aggressive Team Italia): “We are thrilled to be able to tackle the Spa Francorchamps circuit for the first time: it is a historic location and for us it is a source of great satisfaction to be present at the start with our cars. We are aware that the level of competition will be very high, but at the same time we are determined to leave behind the misfortune suffered in Portimao: the goal is to hunt for other points and confirm ourselves as a protagonist in the TCR also in 2023 Europe, after what we did last year on our debut with Pepe Oriola”.
Levente Losonczy (Aggressive Team Italia driver): “I’m really excited to be able to race at Spa, for me it’s a dream come true especially for the many Formula 1 races I’ve seen on television. It will also be an honor to participate in this event as a member of the Hungarian Federation Academy, and I will try to do it in the best possible way with my team, whom I thank for this fantastic opportunity. There will be 23 cars at the start and the challenge will be far from simple, but we are ready as always to do our best!”
Mikael Karlsson (Aggressive Team Italia driver): “Everything will still be a bit new for me: I’m excited to be able to race at Spa for the first time and I can’t wait to ride on this track. It will be very useful to try to make the most of the free practice sessions, after which we will see where we are in qualifying. My goal is to continue the work I started with the team in the best possible way, we are all working hard and I am sure we will take another step forward compared to Portugal”.
The schedule for the TCR Europe will start on Friday 26 May, when the two free practices will be held (scheduled at 9:40 and 14:35), while the official qualifying sessions are scheduled for the following day (10:40) and race-1 which will start at 15:30. Finally, the second heat will take place on Sunday 28, with the start scheduled at 11:40. Qualifying and races will be broadcast live on the championship YouTube channel and within the new TCR TV platform.
