L’attesa è finalmente finita. Scatta da Imola la stagione 2023 di Aggressive Team Italia, al via nel round inaugurale del TCR Italy sull’Autodromo ‘Enzo e Dino Ferrari’ di Imola. Un appuntamento che vede la scuderia di Siziano presente ai nastri di partenza con due Hyundai Elantra N TCR, in un campionato che si prospetta quest’anno più che mai interessante grazie alle quasi 40 vetture iscritte al round inaugurale.
Il team diretto da Mauro Guastamacchia si presenta sulle rive del Santerno con il chiaro intento di confermarsi tra le realtà più competitive della serie tricolore, dopo aver sfiorato la conquista del titolo nella stagione 2021. A difendere i colori della compagine lombarda ci sarà il talentuoso pilota ungherese Levente Losonczy, già presente nella seconda metà della scorsa stagione, ed il belga Giovanni Scamardi, quest’ultimo al debutto assoluto nella categoria dopo aver partecipato alla BMW M2 CS Racing Cup Benelux.
Entrambi si presenteranno al via con l’obiettivo di inserirsi sin dalle prime battute nel lotto dei protagonisti: se da un lato Losonczy può fare affidamento sull’esperienza maturata lo scorso anno, per Scamardi si tratterà della prima presa di contatto con l’impegnativo tracciato emiliano. Ambedue i piloti potranno comunque contare sul supporto fornito dallo staff tecnico dell’Aggressive Team Italia, che cercherà di mettere già a partire dalle prove libere i due alfieri della scuderia nelle migliori condizioni per ben figurare.
Mauro Guastamacchia (Team Principal Aggressive Team Italia): “Finalmente inizia la stagione! Sarà un grande campionato, molto impegnativo visto l’ampio numero di partecipanti. Sicuramente non sarà semplice, ma con Levente e Giovanni abbiamo tutte le carte in regola per puntare ad una posizione di vertice e crescere progressivamente nel corso dell’anno. La qualifica sarà indubbiamente un appuntamento cruciale vista la difficoltà di poter superare a Imola, ma siamo davvero curiosi di capire il nostro potenziale anche in confronto con quello dei nostri competitor. Sicuramente ne vedremo delle belle!”
Levente Losonczy (pilota Aggressive Team Italia): “Sono davvero eccitato di prendere parte a questa nuova stagione: la possibilità di prendere parte al TCR Italy e al TCR Europe è straordinaria e cercherò di fare del mio meglio! Con il team siamo già diventati una grande famiglia e siamo in grado di lavorare in modo molto efficiente. Per il round di Imola, sono curioso di vedere quanto siamo cresciuti nel corso dell’inverno rispetto allo scorso anno, sia per quanto riguarda il mio stile di guida ma anche dal profilo del passo gara. Il parco partenti è molto ampio con tanti piloti veloci, dunque non sarà facile stare davanti ma sono pronto per la sfida: faremo un grande lavoro!”
Giovanni Scamardi: (pilota Aggressive Team Italia): “Difficile dire cosa possa attendermi dalla mia prima gara nel TCR Italy. Con la squadra dovremo adattarci in poco tempo, visto che per me si tratta della prima esperienza su questo tracciato, dunque le prove libere saranno un significativo banco di prova in vista delle qualifiche di sabato. Sono molto entusiasta di iniziare il campionato, abbiamo fatto un ottimo lavoro di preparazione con il team e sono convinto che avremo la possibilità di crescere insieme durante la stagione”.
Le due gare verranno diffuse in diretta streaming su YouTube e Facebook attraverso i canali Social del campionato, così come sull’inedita piattaforma TCR TV. Le prove libere sono previste per Venerdì 21 Aprile (in programma alle 10:30 e alle 14:30), mentre il secondo giorno in pista scatterà alle 9:40 con le qualifiche ufficiali. Seguiranno gara-1 (Sabato alle ore 15:20) ed il gran finale di Domenica 23 Aprile gara-2 (domenica ore 13:00).

The season of the Italian series kicks off on the Santerno circuit this weekend: Mauro Guastamacchia’s team on track with two Hyundai Elantra N TCRs driven by Levente Losonczy and Giovanni Scamardi
The wait is finally over. The 2023 season of Aggressive Team Italia kicks off from Imola, at the start of the inaugural round of the TCR Italy on the ‘Enzo e Dino Ferrari’ racetrack in Imola. An appointment that sees the Italian team present at the starting line with two Hyundai Elantra N TCRs, in a championship that promises to be more interesting than ever this year thanks to the almost 40 cars entered for the inaugural round.
The team directed by Mauro Guastamacchia presents itself on the banks of the Santerno with the clear intention of confirming itself among the most competitive realities in the Italian series, after having come close to winning the title in the 2021 season. The talented driver that will defend the colors of the Lombard team are the Hungarian Levente Losonczy, already present in the second half of last season, and Belgian Giovanni Scamardi, the latter making his absolute debut in the category after taking part in the BMW M2 CS Racing Cup Benelux.
Both will appear at the start with the aim of joining the protagonists’ lot right from the start: if on the one hand Losonczy can rely on the experience gained last year, for Scamardi it will be the first contact with the demanding Emilian track. However, both riders will be able to count on the support provided by the Aggressive Team Italia technical staff, who will try to put the two drivers in the best conditions right from the free practice sessions to do well.
Mauro Guastamacchia (Team Principal Aggressive Team Italia): “The season is finally starting! It will be a great championship, very demanding given the large number of participants. It certainly won’t be easy, but with Levente and Giovanni we have all the credentials to aim for a top position and grow progressively during the year. Qualifying will undoubtedly be a crucial appointment given the difficulty of overtaking at Imola, but we are really curious to understand our potential also in comparison with that of our competitors. Surely we will see some good ones!”
Levente Losonczy (Aggressive Team Italia driver): “I’m really excited for this new season, to race in 2 championships is a blessing and I want to make the most out of it! With the team we have already grown into a family and we can work very efficiently together! For Imola, I would like to see how much we have grown in the winter since last year in terms of my driving style and raw pace, the field is very large with a lot of competitive drivers so to be in front will be a big challenge but I’m all for it, I believe we can deliver and do a great job!
Giovanni Scamardi: (Aggressive Team Italia driver): “It’s hard to say what I can expect from my first race in the TCR Italy. With the team we will have to adapt in a short time, given that this is my first experience on this track, so free practice will be a significant test bench in view of Saturday’s qualifying. I am very excited to start the championship, we have done a great job of preparation with the team and I am convinced that we will have the opportunity to grow together during the season”.
The two races will be streamed live on YouTube and Facebook through the championship’s social channels, as well as on the brand new TCR TV platform. Free practice is scheduled for Friday 21 April (scheduled at 10:30 and 14:30), while the second day on the track will start at 9:40 with the official qualifying. Race-1 will follow (Saturday at 15:20) and the grand finale on Sunday 23 April race-2 (Sunday at 13:00).
