Inizia con un bellissimo terzo posto di Levente Losonczy la stagione nella serie tricolore per la scuderia di Mauro Guastamacchia. Solido debutto anche per Giovanni Scamardi
Parte alla grande il TCR Italy 2023 per l’Aggressive Team Italia. La compagine lombarda festeggia al termine del fine settimana imolese grazie al bellissimo terzo posto ottenuto in gara-2 da Levente Losonczy, accompagnato da un debutto incoraggiante e in crescendo da parte di Giovanni Scamardi. L’équipe di Siziano può tornare dall’Emilia Romagna con il sorriso e tanta fiducia in vista del prosieguo della stagione, dopo un risultato oltremodo significativo visto l’altissimo livello del campionato tricolore. Le competitive Hyundai Elantra TCR N della scuderia diretta da Mauro Guastamacchia sono state protagoniste per l’intero week-end, grazie anche all’eccellente lavoro portato avanti dallo staff del team in piena sintonia con i due piloti.
Il 19enne Losonczy si è subito trovato a suo agio nel circuito dedicato ad Enzo e Dino Ferrari: il talentuoso pilota ungherese, dopo aver iniziato il week-end con un ottimo sesto tempo nella prima sessione di prove libere, si è distinto anche in qualifica ottenendo il settimo crono assoluto in 1:51.765 e ponendo le basi per puntare ad un piazzamento di spicco nelle due corse del fine settimana. Nella prima manche andata in scena Sabato 22 Aprile la Hyundai #64 ha lottato a lungo nel gruppo dei migliori: il selettivo tracciato del Santerno ha quindi visto il pilota magiaro concludere undicesimo dopo aver ripetutamente tentato di agguantare un posto in Top10. Da evidenziare, invece, la strepitosa rimonta di Giovanni Scamardi, debuttante assoluto del TCR Italy: dopo essere scattato dalla 28ma piazza, il belga di origini siciliane ha saputo recuperare sino alla 16esima posizione finale. Sono stati molteplici i sorpassi da parte dell’ex protagonista della BMW M2 CS Racing Cup Benelux, abile a non perdere neanche un’occasione per beffare gli avversari.
Aggressive Team Italia ha battagliato tra i grandi anche nella seconda corsa del TCR Italy 2023. Levente Losonczy, scattato dalla prima fila, si è reso protagonista di uno scatto felino al via grazie al quale ha preso autorevolmente il comando del gruppo. Per il pilota ungherese, complice una piccola sbavatura nel finale alla Tosa, è arrivato sotto la bandiera a scacchi un eccellente terzo posto che rappresenta un risultato lusinghiero per iniziare la terza annata del team lombardo nel TCR Italy. Solida anche la prestazione di Scamardi che, dopo un bel recupero dalle retrovie, si è però visto eliminare da un contatto con un avversario nelle battute finali.
Mauro Guastamacchia (Team Principal Aggressive Team Italia): “Pensavamo di arrivare qui a Imola puntando ad un piazzamento nella Top 10, ma invece Levente ci ha stupito sin dalle qualifiche con un ottimo settimo tempo, accompagnato poi da una condotta di gara fantastica in gara-2 che ci ha regalato il primo podio stagionale. Sono veramente orgoglioso di lui così come di Scamardi, che proviene da una categoria completamente differente e si è dovuto adattare ad una vettura con trazione anteriore. Il team ha fatto un lavoro straordinario ed ora siamo più carichi che mai in vista del resto della stagione!”
Levente Losonczy (pilota Aggressive Team Italia): ”Il bilancio è molto positivo, mi sento molto più a mio agio con la vettura grazie al lavoro svolto durante l’inverno. Abbiamo avuto una partenza spettacolare nella race-2, portandoci subito al comando. Dopo un intervento della Safety Car ho tentato di resistere all’Audi, ma un bloccaggio in curva 7 mi ha costretto a cedere la seconda piazza. Nel finale ho sofferto con le gomme, ma sono molto felice per il terzo posto nella classifica assoluta e per il secondo posto tra gli Under 25. Abbiamo una solida vettura, ringrazio tutti i membri della squadra per il lavoro svolto e non vedo l’ora che arrivi la prossima gara!”
Giovanni Scamardi (pilota Aggressive Team Italia): “Siamo cresciuti molto durante il fine settimana. Mi sono dovuto adattare ad uno stile di guida completamente nuovo per me, dunque sapevamo che l’inizio sarebbe stato in salita. Siamo partiti indietro in entrambe le gare, ma nonostante tutto sono stato in grado di risalire la classifica. Peccato per il contatto nel finale, ma ora siamo pronti a guardare con fiducia al round di Misano, dove ho già svolto dei test e sarò sicuramente in grado di migliorare ancora”.

The season in the Italian series for Mauro Guastamacchia’s team begins with a wonderful third place from Levente Losonczy. Solid debut also for Giovanni Scamardi
The TCR Italy 2023 is off to a great start for the Aggressive Team Italia. The Italian team celebrates at the end of the Imola weekend thanks to the wonderful third place obtained in race-2 by Levente Losonczy, accompanied by an encouraging and growing debut by Giovanni Scamardi. Siziano’s team can return from Emilia Romagna with a smile and a lot of confidence in view of the continuation of the season, after an extremely significant result given the very high level of the Italian championship. The competitive Hyundai Elantra TCR N of the team directed by Mauro Guastamacchia were protagonists for the entire weekend, thanks also to the excellent work carried out by the team staff in full harmony with the two drivers.
The 19-year-old Losonczy immediately found himself at ease on the circuit dedicated to Enzo and Dino Ferrari: the talented Hungarian driver, after starting the weekend with an excellent sixth time in the first free practice session, also distinguished himself in qualifying by the seventh absolute time in 1:51.765 and laying the foundations to aim for a top position in the two races of the weekend. In the first heat which took place on Saturday 22nd April the Hyundai #64 fought for a long time in the group of the best: the selective Santerno track therefore saw the Magyar driver conclude eleventh after having repeatedly tried to grab a place in the Top10. On the other hand, the amazing comeback by Giovanni Scamardi, the absolute debutant of TCR Italy, should be highlighted: after starting from 28th place, the Belgian of Sicilian origins was able to recover up to the 16th final position. There were many overtakings by the former protagonist of the BMW M2 CS Racing Cup Benelux, able to not miss even an opportunity to make fun of his opponents.
Aggressive Team Italia also battled among the greats in the second race of the TCR Italy 2023. Levente Losonczy, who started from the front row, became the protagonist of a feline sprint at the start thanks to which he authoritatively took the lead of the group. An excellent third place arrived under the checkered flag for the Hungarian driver, thanks to a small mistake in the finale at Tosa, which represents a flattering result to start the third season of the Lombard team in TCR Italy. Scamardi’s performance was also solid who, after a good recovery from the rear, however was eliminated by a contact with an opponent in the final stages.
Mauro Guastamacchia (Team Principal Aggressive Team Italia): “We thought we’d arrive here at Imola aiming for a placement in the Top 10, but instead Levente amazed us right from qualifying with an excellent seventh time, accompanied by a fantastic race conduct in the race -2 which gave us the first podium of the season. I’m really proud of him as well as Scamardi, who comes from a completely different category and had to adapt to a front wheel drive car. The team has done an amazing job and we are now more energized than ever for the rest of the season!”
Levente Losonczy (Aggressive Team Italia driver): “The balance is very positive, I feel much more at ease with the car thanks to the work done over the winter. We had a spectacular start in race-2, immediately taking the lead. After an intervention by the Safety Car I tried to resist the Audi, but a block in turn 7 forced me to give up second place. In the end I struggled with the tires but I’m very happy with third place in the overall standings and second place in the Under 25s. We have a solid car, I thank all the team members for their work and I can’t wait for ther next race!”
Giovanni Scamardi (Aggressive Team Italia driver): “We have grown a lot during the weekend. I had to adapt to a completely new riding style for me, so we knew the start would be uphill. We started from behind in both races but despite everything I was able to move up the standings. It’s a shame about the contact in the final stages, but now we’re ready to look forward to the Misano round with confidence, where I’ve already carried out some tests and I’ll certainly be able to improve further.”
It will be possible to experience the emotions and background of the first stage of the season in Imola in the television format ‘Team Life’, the first episode of which will be broadcast on Saturday 29 April at 20:00 on CampioneSport (Digital Terrestrial channel 61), waiting for the second stage of the TCR Italy championship which will be staged in Misano Adriatico on the weekend of 5-7 May.
