L’ultimo atto stagionale del TCR Italy non si è rivelato particolarmente ricco di soddisfazioni per l’Aggressive Team Italia, impegnato sul circuito di Vallelunga con le Hyundai Elantra TCR N affidate a Mirko Zanardini e Levente Losonczy. La scuderia diretta da Mauro Guastamacchia, in seguito ad una serie di episodi poco fortunati, non ha potuto raccogliere il bottino che avrebbe meritato in occasione della prova che ha chiuso la stagione, riuscendo comunque ad artigliare un buon piazzamento in zona punti ed il podio riservato ai rookie con il giovane ungherese. Da parte di entrambi i piloti, comunque, le prestazioni si sono mostrate incoraggianti ed in continua crescita anche rispetto al precedente round di Imola, in occasione del quale entrambi avevano fatto il proprio esordio stagionale nella serie tricolore.
Aggressive Team Italia chiude comunque una stagione vissuta da protagonista, grazie ai numerosi piazzamenti a podio conquistati nella prima parte del campionato con Kevin Ceccon; da evidenziare anche la crescita complessiva da parte di tutta la squadra, che per la prima volta ha affrontato la nuova sfida con le competitive Hyundai Elantra, affiancando all’impegno nel campionato italiano anche le partecipazioni nel TCR Europe e nel TCR Eastern Europe. Una stagione utile per maturare preziosa esperienza e per porre le basi in vista di un futuro ricco di nuovi e stimolanti impegni da affrontare.
Tornando al week-end di Vallelunga, la sfida tra gli oltre trenta concorrenti al via si è mostrata sin dalle prime fasi molto accesa ed equilibrata. Nel corso della sessione di qualifica, i due piloti hanno messo in mostra delle prestazioni molto simili tra loro, come già avvenuto in occasione della tappa di Imola: Losonczy, al suo quinto week-end in carriera su una vettura TCR, ha strappato il diciannovesimo tempo con il crono di 1:42.170, precedendo per un solo decimo il compagno Zanardini, quest’ultimo alle prese con il rientro dopo l’infortunio patito lo scorso anno.
La prima gara ha visto il giovane ungherese precipitare in fondo al gruppo nelle prime fasi, quando è stato costretto ad evitare un incidente verificatosi all’altezza del Curvone, salvo poi rendersi protagonista di una bellissima rimonta che, a suon di sorpassi, lo ha portato sino alla quindicesima posizione finale sul traguardo. Un risultato che gli è valso anche il primo piazzamento in zona punti nel TCR Italy e soprattutto il secondo gradino del podio nella graduatoria riservata ai Rookie. Zanardini, dal canto suo, ha compiuto una gara solida e priva di sbavature, nonostante fosse alle prese con avversari dotati sicuramente di un’esperienza di gran lunga maggiore al volante di questa tipologia di vetture.
La seconda manche, disputatasi nella mattinata di Domenica 18 Settembre, dopo un buon avvio da parte di entrambi i piloti ha visto Zanardini finire in testacoda nel corso delle convulse fasi di bagarre al primo giro, mentre poco dopo Losonczy è stato incolpevole protagonista di una toccata con Rocca che ha costretto entrambi al ritiro. La gara si è poi conclusa con Zanardini che ha conquistato un comunque onorevole 19° posto sotto la bandiera a scacchi.
Mauro Guastamacchia (Team Principal – Aggressive Team Italia): “Abbiamo chiuso con grande professionalità un campionato che comunque ci ha visto per lunghi tratti protagonisti nelle posizioni di vertice, per poi adottare nella seconda parte una scelta che intende anche porre le basi per il futuro. Siamo soddisfatti del bilancio raccolto in termini di risultati ma soprattutto della crescita complessiva della squadra, che si è ulteriormente strutturata confermandosi una realtà di primo piano in questo tipo di competizioni. Adesso guardiamo agli imminenti impegni nel TCR Europe per poi iniziare a pensare al prossimo anno”.
Mirko Zanardini (Pilota – Aggressive Team Italia): “E’ un peccato non essere riuscito a centrare la zona punti, ma al di là di questo devo dire di essere molto contento per i progressi messi in mostra. Si trattava soltanto del mio secondo week-end di gara dopo il rientro e le sensazioni sono state positive. Peccato per l’episodio all’inizio di gara-2 che mi ha compromesso l’opportunità di cogliere un piazzamento decisamente migliore. Ringrazio Mauro e tutto l’Aggressive Team Italia per questa opportunità che ha rappresentato una tappa fondamentale nel mio percorso di ritorno alle corse”.
Levente Losonczy (Driver – Aggressive Team Italia): “Sono molto contento dei progressi fatti rispetto a Imola. In gara-1 sono dovuto andare nella ghiaia al primo giro per evitare un incidente, dopodiché sono riuscito a risalire sino alla P15 realizzando anche lo stesso tempo ottenuto in qualifica. Ero partito bene anche nella seconda gara, ma nelle fasi di lotta c’è stato un contatto e poi un problema ad una sospensione causato da un passaggio su un cordolo, che mi ha costretto al ritiro. Peccato perché sarei potuto arrivare vicino alla top ten, ma il bilancio è comunque positivo e ora non vedo l’ora che arrivi Monza”.
Aggressive Team Italia tornerà in pista nel prossimo week-end a Monza in occasione del TCR Europe schierando con le due Hyundai Elantra lo spagnolo Pepe Oriola e l’ungherese Levente Losonczy.

AGGRESSIVE TEAM ITALIA CLOSES THE SEASON IN TCR ITALY WITH THE FIRST POINTS FOR LOSONCZY
In the last round of the Italian series on the Vallelunga circuit, the young Hungarian also climbs on the podium reserved for the Rookie. Little luck but a growing performance for Mirko Zanardini
The last season of the TCR Italy did not prove to be particularly full of satisfactions for the Aggressive Team Italia, present on the Vallelunga circuit with the Hyundai Elantra TCR N for Mirko Zanardini and Levente Losonczy. The team managed by Mauro Guastamacchia, following a series of unfortunate episodes, could not collect the result it deserved at the test that closed the season, however managing to grab a good placement in the points and the podium reserved. to rookies with the young Hungarian. On the part of both drivers, however, the performances were encouraging and in continuous growth even compared to the previous round of Imola, on the occasion of which both had made their seasonal debut in the Italian series.
Aggressive Team Italia, however, closes a season experienced as a protagonist, thanks to the numerous podium finishes achieved in the first part of the championship with Kevin Ceccon. The overall growth of the whole team should also be highlighted, which for the first time faced the new challenge with the competitive Hyundai Elantra, alongside its commitment in the Italian championship also its participation in TCR Europe and TCR Eastern Europe. A useful season to gain valuable experience and to lay the foundations for a future full of new and stimulating commitments to face.
Returning to the Vallelunga weekend, the challenge between the more than thirty competitors at the start was very heated and balanced from the very beginning. During the qualifying session, the two drivers showed very similar performances, as already happened at the Imola stage: Losonczy, in his fifth weekend in his career on a TCR car, obtained the P19 with a time of 1: 42.170, just one tenth ahead of his teammate Zanardini, the latter struggling with his return after the injury suffered last year.
The first race saw the young Hungarian fall to the back of the group in the early stages, when he was forced to avoid an accident that occurred at the Curvone. Later he was the author of a beautiful comeback which, thanks to numerous overtakes, brought him up to the fifteenth final position on the finish line. A result that also earned him the first placement in the points in the TCR Italy and above all the second step of the podium in the ranking reserved for Rookie. Zanardini, for his part, drove a solid and error-free race, despite the fact that he was struggling with opponents who certainly had far more experience behind the wheel of this type of car.
The second heat, held on the morning of Sunday 18th September, after a good start by both drivers, saw Zanardini spinning during the the first lap, while shortly after Losonczy was innocent protagonist of a collision with Rocca who forced both of them to retire. The race then ended with Zanardini who still obtained an honorable 19th place under the checkered flag.
Mauro Guastamacchia (Team Principal – Aggressive Team Italia): “We closed a championship with great professionalism that in any case saw us protagonists in the top positions for long stretches, and then adopted a choice in the second part that also intends to lay the foundations for the future. We are satisfied with the balance sheet collected in terms of results but above all of the overall growth of the team, which has been further structured, confirming itself as a leading reality in this type of competition. Now let’s look at the upcoming commitments in TCR Europe and then start thinking about next year “.
Mirko Zanardini (Pilota – Aggressive Team Italia): “It is a shame not to have managed to hit the points, but beyond that I must say that I am very happy with the progress shown. It was only my second race weekend after the return and the sensations were positive. Too bad for the episode at the beginning of race-2 which compromised me the opportunity to take a much better position. I thank Mauro and all the Aggressive Team Italy for this opportunity which represented a fundamental step in my route back to racing “.
Levente Losonczy (Driver – Aggressive Team Italia): “I am very happy with the progress made compared to Imola. In race-1 I had to go into the gravel on the first lap to avoid an accident, after which I managed to climb up to P15 and also achieved the same time obtained in qualifying. I had a good start in the second race too, but during the struggle there was a contact and then a problem with a suspension caused by a passage on a curb, which forced me to retire. Too bad because I could have finished close to the top ten, but the balance is still positive and now I’m looking forward to Monza.”
Aggressive Team Italia will be back on track next weekend in Monza at TCR Europe, fielding the Spaniard Pepe Oriola and the Hungarian Levente Losonczy with the two Hyundai Elantra.
