Levente Losonczy and Giovanni Scamardi did not disappoint expectations, closing the fourth round of the season on the rise

Aggressive Team Italia pulled out its claws in Monza, on the occasion of the fourth round of the TCR Italy of the season. The team directed by Mauro Guastamacchia, at the end of a constantly growing weekend, managed to achieve two excellent placings with Levente Losonczy and Giovanni Scamardi, both constantly close to the top positions in the large field of the Italian series. The young Hungarian driver in fact finished eighth under the checkered flag of race 2, while the Belgian of Sicilian origins (also thanks to the penalties inflicted on his opponents) ended the weekend with a positive eleventh place finish.

Precisely one of the numerous interventions adopted by the Race Direction at the end of the event partially nullified the good performance of Losonczy, who found himself relegated to sixteenth position due to a double penalty of 5″. However, the satisfaction remains unchanged for the clearly improving weekend achieved by the 20-year-old from Gyor, followed from this stage by the expert ex-Formula 1 driver Gianni Morbidelli, present in the role of coach driver. The same positive signals also came from Scamardi, who confirmed himself as a true “lion” in the race thanks to the numerous overtakings he made after managing to show important progress even in the delicate qualifying phase.

The Siziano team prepared with great attention for the round on their home track, thanks also to the experience gained in the test session on the Brianza facility held at the beginning of August. After an initial free practice session characterized by wet asphalt, the challenge continued in the afternoon Friday 15 September with FP2 and qualifying, at the end of which Losonczy and Scamardi respectively obtained the 15th and 21st time in a field made up of as many as forty competitors.

After a positive start for both cars, the first heat was a bitter disappointment for Losonczy, who was forced to make a long stop in the pits due to a problem with a sensor. Scamardi in turn highlighted himself with a series of excellent overtakings, which allowed him to recover several positions until he took the thirteenth final place, despite a 5″ penalty imposed on him by the Race Direction for a maneuver judged not to comply with the regulations occurred during one of the numerous phases of neutralization with the Safety Car.

The second race saw both Aggressive Team Italia riders perform a solid and concrete performance, during which they managed to recover numerous positions while avoiding getting involved in the numerous contacts that occurred along the track. Thanks to such conduct, Losonczy managed to cross the finish line in eighth place, while Scamardi finished immediately close to the top ten. After the match, the penalty imposed on the Hungarian only partially mitigated the satisfaction with the result achieved on the field, which once again denotes the evident growth of the entire team in an extremely balanced and competitive context.

Mauro Guastamacchia (Team Principal Aggressive Team Italia): “Beyond the final result, for us it was a weekend of further growth. We wanted to do well on our home track, and both our drivers delivered an excellent performance, especially in the race. Levente immediately found an excellent feeling with the new driver coach Gianni Morbidelli, who will represent a precious point of reference for him from now on, while Giovanni confirmed himself as a lion in the race, fighting with a knife between his teeth. Unfortunately in race 1 a problem with the sensors forced us to pit, but in the second heat the performance was very good: after a difficult start I managed to recover some positions, until with six laps to go I was hit by another car. From then on I had to drive with the steering wheel crooked, but despite this I managed to bring the car to the finish line in an excellent position. We have gained a lot of useful experience and I am looking forward to next weekend’s challenge in TCR Europe.”

Giovanni Scamardi (Aggressive Team Italia driver): “The result achieved in Monza was overall positive. We managed to make a small step forward in qualifying, while in the race we confirmed ourselves with an excellent pace which allowed me to make up ground.
